Part time position - approximately 5 hours per week
Responsible for providing evaluation, diagnosis and therapeutic intervention in adult developmentally disabled group residences. Monitors treatment plans and progress; Conveys intervention techniques to appropriate parties.
· Provides psychological assessment on individuals annually in areas of intelligence and adaptive behavior.
· Develops a treatment plan and goals based on an assessment; Provides psychological services as prescribed by treatment plan in areas of behavior management, psychological counseling, crisis intervention, etc.
· Integrates therapeutic intervention techniques into programs through consultation with parent/guardian and staff at team meetings, case conferences or through other informal contacts.
· Records progress on all active cases in therapy, monitors therapy status and makes appropriate recommendations as changes occur.
· Develops a behavior plan for Individuals on psychotropic medication with a goal of decreasing their medication and reports to Human Rights Committee regarding behavior management, informed consent and psychotropic medication management.
· Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews for purposes of planning, implementation and monitoring of individual plans.
· Participates in pre-admission evaluations.
· Maintains psychological testing material and order supplies with approval of supervisor.
· Administers scores, analyzes and interprets diagnostic tests in cognitive and emotional areas.
· Attends team meetings as scheduled. Trains and instructs program staff in utilization of goals, behavior management, interpretation of test results, etc.
· Keeps abreast of changes in field.
Qualifications
Education and/or experience required:
· Master’s Degree in Psychology
· At least one year working with individuals with a developmental disability
· There is a six month probationary period.
